On EXEC_BACKEND builds, this can fail if ASLR is in use. Backpatch to 9.5. On master, completely remove the bgw_main field completely, since there is no situation in which it is safe for an EXEC_BACKEND build. On 9.6 and 9.5, leave the field intact to avoid breaking things for third-party code that doesn't care about working under EXEC_BACKEND. Prior to 9.5, there are no in-core bgworker entrypoints. Test extensions and libraries ============================= src/test/modules contains PostgreSQL extensions that are primarily or entirely intended for testing PostgreSQL and/or to serve as example code. The extensions here aren't intended to be installed in a production server and aren't suitable for "real work". Most extensions have their own pg_regress tests or isolationtester specs. Some are also used by tests elsewhere in the tree. If you're adding new hooks or other functionality exposed as C-level API this is where to add the tests for it.
