Mike Bayer cf62005639 test oracle 23c, mariadb12; reduce backend use
one particular vector test wont run on oracle 23c free, so
just disable it.

added better skips for the rest of the vector tests and
fixed a deprecation issue.

this will be the first run on the new oracle23 on CI so we'll have to
see how this goes.

Also adjust for mariabdb12 being overly helpful with regards
to stale row updates.

as we are having trouble getting 23c to pass throug transaction
tests, i noted we have an explosion of tests due to the multiple
drivers, so this patch introduces __sparse_driver_backend__
for all tests where we want variety of
database server but there's no need to test every driver.
This should dramatically reduce the size of the test suite run

Mike Bayer c96805a43a rework wraps_column_expression logic to be purely compile time checking
Fixed issue where :func:`.select` of a free-standing, unnamed scalar expression that
has a unary operator applied, such as negation, would not apply result
processors to the selected column even though the correct type remains in
place for the unary expression.

This change opened up a typing rabbithole where we were led to also
improve and harden the typing for the Exists element, in particular
in that the Exists now always refers to a ScalarSelect object, and
no longer a SelectStatementGrouping within the _regroup() cases; there
did not seem to be any reason for this inconsistency.

command run is "pyupgrade --py37-plus --keep-runtime-typing --keep-percent-format <files...>"
pyupgrade will change assert_ to assertTrue. That was reverted since assertTrue does not
exists in sqlalchemy fixtures

Mike Bayer 8e91cfe529 establish consistency for RETURNING column labels
The RETURNING clause now renders columns using the routine as that of the
:class:`.Select` to generate labels, which will include disambiguating
labels, as well as that a SQL function surrounding a named column will be
labeled using the column name itself. This is a more comprehensive change
than a similar one made for the 1.4 series that adjusted the function label
issue only.

includes 1.4's changelog for the backported version which also
fixes an Oracle issue independently of the 2.0 series.

Mike Bayer caa9f0ff98 apply basic escaping to anon_labels unconditionally
Fixed issue which prevented the :func:`_sql.literal_column` construct from
working properly within the context of a :class:`.Select` construct as well
as other potential places where "anonymized labels" might be generated, if
the literal expression contained characters which could interfere with
format strings, such as open parenthesis, due to an implementation detail
of the "anonymous label" structure.

Mike Bayer 14250f2668 propagate proxy_key from WrapsColumnExpression
this allows cast() of a label() to propagate the
proxy key outwards in the same way that it apparently
works at the SQL level.

This is stuffing even more rules into naming so basically
seeing how far we can go without other cases starting
to fail.

Mike Bayer 22deafe152 Warn when caching is disabled / document
This patch adds new warnings for all elements that
don't indicate their caching behavior, including user-defined
ClauseElement subclasses and third party dialects.
it additionally adds new documentation to discuss an apparent
performance degradation in 1.4 when caching is disabled as a
result in the significant expense incurred by ORM
lazy loaders, which in 1.3 used BakedQuery so were actually
cached.

As a result of adding the warnings, a fair degree of
lesser used SQL expression objects identified that they did not
define caching behavior so would have been producing
``[no key]``, including PostgreSQL constructs ``hstore``
and ``array``.  These have been amended to use inherit
cache where appropriate.  "on conflict" constructs in
PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite still explicitly don't generate
a cache key at this time.

The change also adds a test for all constructs via
assert_compile() to assert they will not generate cache
warnings.

Mike Bayer 707e5d70fc labeling refactor
To service #6718 and #6710, the system by which columns are
given labels in a SELECT statement as well as the system that
gives them keys in a .c or .selected_columns collection have
been refactored to provide a single source of truth for
both, in constrast to the previous approach that included
similar logic repeated in slightly different ways.

Main ideas:

1. ColumnElement attributes ._label, ._anon_label, ._key_label
   are renamed to include the letters "tq", meaning
   "table-qualified" - these labels are only used when rendering
   a SELECT that has LABEL_STYLE_TABLENAME_PLUS_COL for its
   label style; as this label style is primarily legacy, the
   "tq" names should be isolated so that in a 2.0 style application
   these aren't being used at all

2. The means by which the "labels" and "proxy keys" for the elements
   of a SELECT has been centralized to a single source of truth;
   previously, the three of _generate_columns_plus_names,
   _generate_fromclause_column_proxies, and _column_naming_convention
   all had duplicated rules between them, as well as that there
   were a little bit of labeling rules in compiler._label_select_column
   as well; by this we mean that the various "anon_label" "anon_key"
   methods on ColumnElement were called by all four of these methods,
   where there were many cases where it was necessary that one method
   comes up with the same answer as another of the methods.  This
   has all been centralized into _generate_columns_plus_names
   for all the names except the "proxy key", which is generated
   by _column_naming_convention.

3. compiler._label_select_column has been rewritten to both not make
   any naming decisions nor any "proxy key" decisions, only whether
   to label or not to label; the _generate_columns_plus_names method
   gives it the information, where the proxy keys come from
   _column_naming_convention; previously, these proxy keys were matched
   based on restatement of similar (but not really the same) logic in
   two places.   The heuristics of "whether to label or not to label"
   are also reorganized to be much easier to read and understand.

4. a new method compiler._label_returning_column is added for dialects
   to use in their "generate returning columns" methods.   A
   github search reveals a small number of third party dialects also
   doing this using the prior _label_select_column method so we
   try to make sure _label_select_column continues to work the
   exact same way for that specific use case; for the "SELECT" use
   case it now needs

5. After some attempts to do it different ways, for the case where
   _proxy_key is giving us some kind of anon label, we are hard
   changing it to "_no_label" right now, as there's not currently
   a way to fully match anonymized labels from stmt.c or
   stmt.selected_columns to what will be in the result map.  The
   idea of "_no_label" is to encourage the user to use label('name')
   for columns they want to be able to target by string name that
   don't have a natural name.

Gord Thompson 22f65156bb Replace with_labels() and apply_labels() in ORM/Core
Replace :meth:`_orm.Query.with_labels` and
:meth:`_sql.GenerativeSelect.apply_labels` with explicit getters and
setters ``get_label_style`` and ``set_label_style`` to accommodate the
three supported label styles: ``LABEL_STYLE_DISAMBIGUATE_ONLY`` (default),
``LABEL_STYLE_TABLENAME_PLUS_COL``, and ``LABEL_STYLE_NONE``.

In addition, for Core and "future style" ORM queries,
``LABEL_STYLE_DISAMBIGUATE_ONLY`` is now the default label style. This
style differs from the existing "no labels" style in that labeling is
applied in the case of column name conflicts; with ``LABEL_STYLE_NONE``, a
duplicate column name is not accessible via name in any case.

For legacy ORM queries using :class:`_query.Query`, the table-plus-column
names labeling style applied by ``LABEL_STYLE_TABLENAME_PLUS_COL``
continues to be used so that existing test suites and logging facilities
see no change in behavior by default, however this style of labeling is no
longer required for SQLAlchemy queries to function, as result sets are
commonly matched to columns using a positional approach since SQLAlchemy
1.0.

Within test suites, all use of apply_labels()  / use_labels
now uses the new methods.    New tests added to
test/sql/test_deprecations.py nad test/orm/test_deprecations.py
to cover just the old apply_labels() method call.  Tests
in ORM that made explicit use apply_labels()/ etc. where it isn't needed
for the ORM to work correctly use default label style now.

Mike Bayer 7e864fc7b1 Create a framework to allow all SQLALCHEMY_WARN_20 to pass
As the test suite has widespread use of many patterns
that are deprecated, enable SQLALCHEMY_WARN_20 globally
for the test suite but then break the warnings filter
out into a whole list of all the individual warnings
we are looking for.  this way individual changesets
can target a specific class of warning, as many of these
warnings will indivdidually affect dozens of files
and potentially hundreds of lines of code.

Many warnings are also resolved here as this
patch started out that way.   From this point
forward there should be changesets that target a
subset of the warnings at a time.

For expediency, updates some migration 2.0 docs
for ORM as well.

Federico Caselli e860060866 Update select usage to use the new 1.4 format
This change includes mainly that the bracketed use within
select() is moved to positional, and keyword arguments are
removed from calls to the select() function.  it does not
yet fully address other issues such as keyword arguments passed
to the table.select().

Additionally, allows False / None to both be considered
as "disable" for all of select.correlate(), select.correlate_except(),
query.correlate(), which establishes consistency with
passing of ``False`` for the legact select(correlate=False)
argument.

Mike Bayer e0396633e7 create second level deduping when use_labels is turned on
As of #4753 we allow duplicate columns.  This creates some new
problems that there can be duplicate columns in a subquery
which are then not addressible on the outside because they
are ambiguous (Postgresql has this behavior at least).  Additionally
it creates situations where we are making an anon label of an
anon label which is leaking into the query.

New logic for generating anon labels handles this situation and
also alters the .c collection
of a subquery such that we are only getting the first column
from the derived selectable that has that name, the subsequent ones
have a new deduping label with two underscores and are not exposed
in .c.  The dedupe logic when rendering the columns will handle
duplicate label names for different columns, vs. the same column
repeated, as separate cases.

Mike Bayer 70c9bc0339 Add max_identifier_length parameter; warn for Oracle
Added new :func:`.create_engine` parameter
:paramref:`.create_engine.max_identifier_length`. This overrides the
dialect-coded "max identifier length" in order to accommodate for databases
that have recently changed this length and the SQLAlchemy dialect has
not yet been adjusted to detect for that version.  This parameter interacts
with the existing :paramref:`.create_engine.label_length` parameter in that
it establishes the maximum (and default) value for anonymously generated
labels.

The Oracle dialect now emits a warning if Oracle version 12.2 or greater is
used, and the :paramref:`.create_engine.max_identifier_length` parameter is
not set.   The version in this specific case defaults to that of the
"compatibility" version set in the Oracle server configuration, not the
actual server version.   In version 1.4, the default max_identifier_length
for 12.2 or greater will move to 128 characters.  In order to maintain
forwards compatibility, applications should set
:paramref:`.create_engine.max_identifier_length` to 30 in order to maintain
the same length behavior, or to 128 in order to test the upcoming behavior.
This length determines among other things how generated constraint names
are truncated for statements like ``CREATE CONSTRAINT`` and ``DROP
CONSTRAINT``, which means a the new length may produce a name-mismatch
against a name that was generated with the old length, impacting database
migrations.

Mike Bayer 3bb402ff8e Label simple column transformations as the column name
Additional logic has been added such that certain SQL expressions which
typically wrap a single database column will use the name of that column as
their "anonymous label" name within a SELECT statement, potentially making
key-based lookups in result tuples more intutive.   The primary example of
this is that of a CAST expression, e.g. ``CAST(table.colname AS INTEGER)``,
which will export its default name as "colname", rather than the usual
"anon_1" label, that is, ``CAST(table.colname AS INTEGER) AS colname``.
If the inner expression doesn't have a name, then the previous "anonymous
label" logic is used.  When using SELECT statements that make use of
:meth:`.Select.apply_labels`, such as those emitted by the ORM, the
labeling logic will produce ``<tablename>_<inner column name>`` in the same
was as if the column were named alone.   The logic applies right now to the
:func:`.cast` and :func:`.type_coerce` constructs as well as some
single-element boolean expressions.

Applied on top of a pure run of black -l 79 in
I7eda77fed3d8e73df84b3651fd6cfcfe858d4dc9,  this set of changes
resolves all remaining flake8 conditions for those codes
we have enabled in setup.cfg.

Included are resolutions for all remaining flake8 issues
including shadowed builtins, long lines, import order, unused
imports, duplicate imports, and docstring issues.

Mike Bayer 1e1a38e780 Run black -l 79 against all source files
This is a straight reformat run using black as is, with no edits
applied at all.

The black run will format code consistently, however in
some cases that are prevalent in SQLAlchemy code it produces
too-long lines.   The too-long lines will be resolved in the
following commit that will resolve all remaining flake8 issues
including shadowed builtins, long lines, import order, unused
imports, duplicate imports, and docstring issues.

Mike Bayer ac52239b32 - Fixed bug where the truncation of long labels in SQL could produce
a label that overlapped another label that is not truncated; this
because the length threshhold for truncation was greater than
the portion of the label that remains after truncation.  These
two values have now been made the same; label_length - 6.
The effect here is that shorter column labels will be "truncated"
where they would not have been truncated before.

Mike Bayer 20cdc64588 trying different approaches to test layout. in this one, the testing modules
become an externally usable package but still remains within the main sqlalchemy parent package.
in this system, we use kind of an ugly hack to get the noseplugin imported outside of the
"sqlalchemy" package, while still making it available within sqlalchemy for usage by
third party libraries.

that are generated in Python which exceed
